Delete a nominal account

If you no longer want to use a nominal account, you can remove it from the Nominal Ledger.

You can only delete in the following circumstances:

• The account must have a balance of zero.
• The account must have no transactions held on it either in the current or archived file or held in the waiting postingsTransactions that have not yet been posted to the Nominal Ledger. These can be updated by using the Nominal Ledger Update Waiting Postings routine. file.
• The account cannot be set as the Suspense account in the default nominal accounts.

To delete a nominal account

Open: Nominal Ledger > Nominal Accounts > Maintain Account.

• Select the account that you want to delete in the A/C Ref. box and then click Delete.

  The nominal account is deleted from the Nominal Ledger.
