Creating an estimate from a completed works order

(One-off Works Orders Only)

You can create estimatesForecast project costs, based on expected costs of labour, machinery and operation times. In Manufacturing, estimates are produced for one-off items or non-repetitive batches. based on the items used in completed one-off works orders. All of the stock items, non-stock itemsItems which do not have a product record set up in Stock Control. Such items are usually bought for a specific job., operationsThe labour, machine and tool processes required to manufacture an item. and other expenses that have been used during production will be included in the estimate.

Any items originally estimated for but not used in the completed works order, will not be included in the new estimate.

To create an estimate from a completed one-off works order

Open: Works Orders > Processing > Create Estimate from One-Off.

1. Select the required works order from the drop-down list.

2. Enter the Estimate No.

   If you have selected Automatic Estimate Numbers on the Numbering tab in Estimate Settings then the estimate number will be created automatically.

3. The customer account on the existing works order is displayed by default.
• Select the account for whom you are creating the estimate, from the A/C, Short name or Postcode drop-down list.

The Name and Contact details appear automatically.

4. To create the estimate, click OK.

   The new estimate will be listed in the Estimating module.
